My friend has the Mazda 6 6 cylinder manual, after only 30 k miles he needed to replace his clutch. is this a common problem for the 6?
now he also has clutch chatter when starting off from 1st gear, any ideas?

honestly, some people are a little more rough on the clutch than others. it also depends on what kind of driving you do. I know I'll probably have to replace my clutch early beacuse sadly, I do a lot of uphill stop and go traffic (hence the reason I'm trying to move).

Mazda released a TSB on the clutch. Depending on how buddy buddy you are with the regional rep, you can get it replaced with a revised version (actual new part).

Is this TSB also available in Canada?

You will feel it slip when you try to engage it. I had a bad clutch on my 626 and I was just about to pull into traffic. You will definately notice, because you will have to ride the clutch to get it to engage.

http://forum.mazda6tech.com/about2813.html Sweet!! This is an annoyance more than a problem, but one that I've had since I got the car.
