what should I ask for for christmas for my MSP? (other than the car itself :) )

I can think of a lot of things I want like a front lip and grill insert and things like that but im havin trouble thinking of things under 100 bucks that im gonna want. Anyone have any ideas? So far I had thought of a gauge pod for the steering column and a gauge for it. Which is another question, what is an important gauge to get with a turbo car? oil pressure? oil temp? boost? ?

Please correct me if i'm wrong, but I thought the MSP came with a shortshifter? If so, why would you want to replace it with another shortshifter?

Please excuse my ignorance, i'm new to Mazda....but not to imports or perf. mods.

I wish someone would just come out with a nice looking gauge set that fits in the center console under the stereo where that useless compartment is. I wanna fill that hole with something. Maybe 2-3 gauge setup with some silver trim matching the interior of the car....hmmmmm purdy. Even solid black with white faced gauges would be cool.

that space isnt going to be useless once i finish developing my device:

im assuming you meant 'dex' :p

im working on finishing up the temps, and then im going to be adding OBDII diagnostics. after that, hopefully, fuel economy info.

Hey Dexter...Little off topic of the thread, but i was wondering if you've got some schematics for that thing and what did the parts cost you to make...looks like just a small lcd screen, couple of resistors and a circut board. It's pretty trick if you ask me.

well what you dont see in that pic....

:D

LCD: Matrix Orbital GLK12232-WBL
The chips are:
Microchip PIC16F877 - main programmable microprocessor
MAX233 - TTL to RS232 level logic converter (for the LCD)
2 Dallas DS1624 - 2 wire (I2C) temperature sensors
2 4.7k pullup resistors, and 1 1.0uF capacitor

i plan to add an ODBII chip and some other crap.

sorry for the hijack slug!!!!!!

That's awesome dex. That's so cool that you can make that kinda stuff. If you're going to tap into OBDII diags, then that means you'll be connected to the computer of the car right? Then you can add stuff like 0-60 times and cool stuff like that.

Man if you ever get that thing working right and has an easy install to it, you can probably make a killin off guys in these forums alone. I'd buy it for around $100 or less. Keep me updated if you get a finished product. I wanna see what it looks like in your car. Later

No problem. That's what I'm here for :). Ohh, nother idea. For the next advanced model, you can tap into LCDs for color displays and even interract with it if you have a touch screen LCD. How cool would that bee. Even if you just made cool screen savers that have MazdaSpeed floating around or something like that or digital gauges that measure the boost, air/fuel ratio, voltage, stuff like that. Man you got me babbling now. See what you get for getting me excited.

the msp does come with a short shifter kit. I just made a visit to one and the throws are really short and crisp. The knob is shorter as well.
