Does anyone have any suggestions towards how to wash their car during the Winter? I'm guessing most of everyone here won't want to run their car through an auto car wash. I know I don't, but I always park my "Fun" car during the Winter. After I get my MSP it'll be a year round car for me.

First thing is take it to Krown rust proofing...for regular washing go to a coin operated one that uses FRESH water....give it a spray to get the crap off....do under the wheel wheels ect....put a nice coat of wax on it if you can

For_Mica,
You have two options. A touchless carwash (ex. LaserWash at Mobil gas stations) which just uses higher powered water, and no brushes. The middle of the line wash costs $5 here in Wisconsin which blasts the salt off of the bottom of your car, does a normal wash, "clear coat protectant" and spot free rinse. Pretty nice setup. I've never seen salt come off so quickly.

Otherwise, you'll just have to wait for those days when its 40 degrees and you don't have to worry about freezing water. Good luck.

I use the laserwash at the Esso stations in Canada does a great job and you don't have to freeze your a$s off washing your car.

I use my heated garage with hot water coming through the hose and hand wash it :). But if I don't have the time I use a pressure washer too. Just make sure you use one that wash's under the car as you drive in. That'll help a lot. How much does rust proofing cost?

In Canada, rust proofing is about $100 to $150. So in the USA its probably about $75.

In the winter I usually won't wash my car by hand. I usually just spray some wheel magic on my rims while I'm getting gas, then take it right through the touchless car wash. Most work fairly well, but it's just not like washing it by hand. And I have yet to find an automatic car wash that cleans rims off nicely. That's why I keep a bottle of wheel magic in the trunk.

I usually go the self serve wash down the street. i plop in a few dollars of spare silver and spray it down, lather it up, rinse, scrub the rims with a foaming brush and then rinse, clear coat protect and spot free rinse it. In this weather I try to do it once a week.

Thanks everybody!
I'll definitely keep my eyes opened for a "Laser Wash" or somthing similar. Most of the time I'll prefer to use the driveway on a warm day when possible.

Krown will do the car for $ 90 cdn...I took our mp3 there so the msp should be about the same. They have a new car guarantee program that says they will pay for rust if you follow the program

I've only taking my car threw a car wash three times..the rest is by hand or threw coin wash...if your hard core about your car being cleaned i suggest coin wash...but it's way dam to cold these days to wash it. I leave it dirty untill the weekends during the winter and wash is everyday or so during the summer...washing my car on my driveway is me at my happyest state

You wash your car EVERYDAY in the summer? That seems like a bit of overkill.
