I get double takes when I push it and they hear the CAI. LOL I love that.

Yeah no one pulls up next to me in the Speed. But tend to get looks from pedestrians or while sitting at a light.

Naw, it was cool. He had wanted to get a speed3, but didn't want to wait for one (they are not that easy to get in Canada). Turned out he is in the same program as I am at the University (except he graduated last year). We ended up talking at the gas station for like 30 minutes.

thats one thing i still dont like about the 3. its so hard to tell its a mazdaspeed...or that its special. i obvisoly know all the differences but thats because im a mazda freak...to the average joe its just a 3. thats what i like about hte speed protege. even when i was bone stock i got looks all the time. and no one believed it was a mazda.

100% agree. I don't get looks until they hear me rev it up with the CAI. Then they look. I tend to get weird looks anyway when driving. LOL

I feel just the opposite. I like that it doesn't look like anything special. I don't need to attract any extra attention from cops or robbers, you know? I'm still hoping to get a Speed3, and I'm thinking real hard about the Silver, 'cause no one would ever notice it whipping along on the highway above the limit! I'd also probably debadge mine, so no one sees any reason to break into it, either!

Of course, if they do a white one in the States, I'll probably go for that over silver, but it would still be pretty subtle.

Here in Miami, I have had quite a few praises. Hondas don't play with me but they cerntainly look more than twice. But I do like the fact that we are kinda of stealthy. I just sound way differenct than stock and more powerful.

Yeah I like that it doesnt draw much attention. It only draws it when you want it to.

Aside from being circled like a piece of chum by a few SRT4s at a gas station once, I don't get much attention. No one here knows about the car.

haha what is it with SRT-4's and circling us speed3 drivers, whenever i go to my local carwash there always seems to be 2 or 3 of them there befor i leave...but theres alot of them around my area.

I've found rolling my back windows down is a good way to entertain SRT-4 drivers. I've had a couple of civic drivers double take and one even try to race me (lol) The best is other Mazda 3 owners, they seem to know a speed 3 when they see one unlike the general public.

hay has any one ran against an srt-4 ive driven both but havnt beenable to campare the but then you get into the fact that srts have beenout longer and more aftermarket parts are out and out there 2nd hand cheep. so no garente that it was bone stock. i guess i should ask what are 1/4 mile time and traps are beacuse ive taken a stock srt down the 1/4 in 13.92 at 102.

Well this Mazda 3 (sedan) today thought he would be slick and try and gas past me on the freeway...I popped it back into 3rd and you should have seen his face when I flew by!

I think I should find a way of getting the Mazdaspeed logo in lights. Find a way to have it controlled from the dash so when someone gets burned I can light it up so they know not to do it again.

(wow)

USAFdude02, good idea LOL.

I hate to be a sleeper, Im an attention whore, but not to the point of an STI either. I never get raced by mazdas except this one time I was following on this mazda3 hatch that had exhaust, HIDs (and other unknown mods) and decided to pass him and he punched it cuz he saw me coming next to him, maybe he thought i was another car about to do a ricer fly by on him...but i dont think he knew I had a mazda6 cuz it was night time and i didnt get to pull beside him before he punched it...he knew after I passed him though LOL.

The other day I was at the dealer, I was talking to the service manager next to my parked car for about 20 minutes about the service I need to do to the car etc etc, when he hits the topic of rotating the tyres, I said I rotate them myself and then he says "yes, because this car is FWD, and you have to rotate them constantly..." I was in shock...not even the service manager knew what car it was. Can the hood buldge be any fckin bigger on the MS6? Oh well.

Yeah, that's what I like too. I've noticed that I've been getting much less attention from cops too. A cop was going the other direction day and I went by going 30 over + and he didn't even look. Maybe he was busy, but I know in my old sports coupe style car, that would have been a ticket.
