The local Mazda dealer is offering me a brand new 2007 Mazdaspeed 3 Sport with the Mazda cold air intake installed for 22,900 before tax, title, license. I saw that the invoice on this car is like 20,900 so I didn't know if it was a good deal or not.
Thanks to everybody for reading my first post and voting on my poll.

I think you can go much lower than that.
Consider this... the '07s are making way for the '08s so that gives you some wiggle room to haggle over the MSRP. In fact, I would guess you could buy an '07 for pretty close to invoice now (depending on where you live of course as some areas have limited quantity while others like NY/NJ seem to have a surplus).
The MS CAI costs around $300 give or take some change... plus add in the cost for a dealer install (2 hours max). Ballpark around $500 total.
Add it all together, and you're looking at something closer to $21,500-ish.

If the dealer's invoice is 20,900...plus the COST of the CAI around $150-$200 plus what the service department would charge the sales department for the labor at probably $65/hour...so probably $100 to $130 bucks
You're looking at a Wholesale of $21,150 to $21,330....
So at $22,900, they are profiting about $1,750.00 to $1,570.00 off the sale...which sounds like a good deal for you....
If I had the money, or wanted car payments again, I'd think it was a pretty good deal.
This does not take into account if the dealer has some "incentive" from Mazda which may be like 10%...which they usually do not get for the MazdaSpeed editions...

I am working right now on an 08 Sport for 22,393...so I would not think that was a good price.

I paid 24.9 fot a gt otd. I would def talk them down. I walk into dealerships like an asshole. I love when they start talking montly payments, i just leave and go to the next one. Walk in there and say you wanna pay whatever the sticker is OTD. Thats the only way i buy a car. Being the sticker was 24800 on my car paying 24907 otd was 'ok' since i really liked it lol

I think with the 08's coming out, they will come down on that tag a bit. Large downpayments help you haggle a GREAT deal, "Hey i'll drop 5G's on it today if you come down a grand." or better "Hey i'll drop 8G's on it if you come down, 1500.
