Will somebody either post a link to a pdf for the install of the Mazdaspeed CAI, or post pics of your own install? I'd like to know how hard it is to do it myself, therefore I could skip dealer installation, and still have a Mazda part if I chose...

its super easy. i didnt get any pics during install but the instructions that come with the mazda speed CAI are super easy to read and youll be done in like...an hour. just make sure a week or two after the install you check the clamps for tightness. i rechecked mine after about 500 mile and the clamp by the intake pipe to the turbo was loose and i was loosing boost through the coupler and the pipe.

It is a very easy install. I went by recomendation of another member and went in through the driver side wheel well and, being very very careful to check everything over more than once, finished in just under 2 hours. There are only....3 I beleive bolts in the bumper and a few clips. The under the hood work is easy!

try this, its for the injen but almost the same (you do not!!! need to take the bumper off) I did a mazdaspeed cai a couple of weeks ago and its easy, theres only one bolt thats hard to get to but that might taake an extra 10 minutes. any questions e mail at yanezrodrigo@yahoo.com, heres the step by step http://www.injen.com/galleries/products/41220071305SP6062_hd.pdf

these pictures will help you visualize what u are doing when u go from the drivers side wheelwell instead of the bumper, the speed cai comes with good instructions plus these pictures you will be done in an hour or two, the only thing that got me stuck was the breather tube from the ic to the cai, it wouldnt line up and I wasnt sure that the end pieces twisted, once I figured that out it was cake.

he didnt say you needed to take the bumper off. as you know there are three bolts that connect to the bottom of the bumper that hold the plastic shroud in place under the wheel well.

EDIT: oh your talking about the injen pic. why did they do that? what a pain in the ass. lol.

the only pain in my but was "what in the hell is a fuel blaster ballist" it doesent give you a diagram or a picture it just sais screw the fuel blaster ballist into the intake... its that metal looking box screwed into the firewall

Well I tell ya what. Takin the bumper off was easier than trying to work around it. And why the hell do you need a splash shield when all you have to do is rivet some of that shield we had to take off, over those damn slits in the wheel well.

And why the hell are those damn slits there for in the first place.

aerodynamics. the car goes at least 20 mph faster with them. plus...slits in anything are nice. slits on the car. slits on a girls dress. the slit between her legs. im tellin ya. slits.

im actually starting a new campaign. tell me if your interested. "slits for sluts" its a work in progress.
