I just bought an '07 CX-9 FWD Touring and have noted some slight vibrating on heavier braking. I rented one for a few days 3-4 months ago and noticed the same. I do drive a little more aggresive. Anyone else experience this? Any thoughts on what it might be?

Warped rotors, take it in and they should replace the rotors, pads, and the rear pads.

that was my first thought. I am a little suprised right out of the gate that that would be the case, but I guess it could be. Cars only got 100 miles on it.

Brake pedal vibration under brake load is generally a sign of lateral runout on the rotors. Replacing the pads is not necessary, don't waste your money.

In general (and as stated in the CX-9 user guide Sect 4 - Pg 6) brakes shouldn't be used particularly aggressively during the first 600 miles (or after new pads/rotors), as this can cause rotors to warp.

It's under warranty for the first 12,000 miles, so its free. They did the same thing for my CX-7 when it happened.

I don't have a vibration but mine squeaks when braking or overnight it takes a few time using the brake before going away. The Dealer says that is normal, anyone else have this problem.

Mine just started squeaking last night. 4500 miles. Brakes work fantastic, however, the squeaking does sound good from a brand new car.

I'll give it a couple days & if it doesn't go away, I will be taking it in to the dealer.

If your car sits outside overnight (as mine does), you will get some nightly surface corrosion (especially with salt on the roads during the winter), causing the brakes to sound awful for the first few stops. However, this should quickly go away and they should work as before.

If the squealing happens even after applying the brakes a few times, it's an issue and the dealer should address it under warranty. It may just require some additional anti-squeal goop on the pads.
