does it unlock it or just fit in the hole?

sometimes manufacturers use the same key blank fordifferent cars and whatnot

I hate to tell you but there are probably several Mazdas with the same key as you too. There are only so many possible keys and the 3 has been made for several years now so its bound to repeat.

This happens more often than you would think. Consider yourself disillusioned.

I had a 95 honda civic and a 93 integra that I used to switch keys for all the time. Just a random fluke. Found out when I picked up the wrong set by accident one day. Opened the doors, started the engine, everything. I freaked out since they're some of the most stolen cars and checked all my friends honda keys to see if they would fit and none did, so who knows

Do the sport models have the chip as well as the GTs?

That happened to me with a Chevy astro. I opened it up but realized it was the wrong one right away, I didn't go inside of it.

FYI the only way "the club" works it to beat someone with it.

Cut the steering wheel and magically the club is off.... and I bet I can do that quicker than you can put the little key in the lock

false sense of security, but w/e helps you sleep at night...

I think it is a deterent still. Alot of theifs probly don't carry a saw or cutting tool and my club has double hooks on each end so it would require the wheel to be cut in like four spots wich I believe will buy me some time if someone decides to snip the wheel.

Well they have also been known to freeze the lock and break it... so within 2 seconds the club is off without cutting the steering wheel.

In other instances, they just take the steering wheel off depending on the car.

so ultimately the club is worthless. the only thing it does it deter amateur thieves from getting your car. no matter what you got, a professioanl is going to get it no matter what. simple as that

Around here we have alot of car theft but I believe most of it is just amateures. My civic got stolen and it was found about a mile or two away with nothing removed so I think it was just for a joy ride since then I have put a club on it and have not had any problems. Real professional car theives would probly be after better cars than an old civic and a MS3.

I will slightly agree that it can be a deterrent but only because if I was looking at 2 of the same cars and one had it and the other didn't I'd take the one that didnt have it.....esp since most "professional" theives are paid based off the cars worth and any damage done to it comes out of their pay

but the best theft prevention is to run a hidden switch that cuts off the electric fuel pump. Cant steal it if you can't fuel it.

Don't lock your doors guys! Professional (and even amateur) thieves can break your window...

Faulty logic.
