Okay, this is my how-to on the Home Depot Lip:
What you need is a garage door seal
http://www.msprotege.com/members/buit9110/hdp%20lip.jpg
Some 3M red double sided tape
Image comming soon!
Some self threading screws or any screw that is not longer than 1 1/2 inches.
A razor blade.
and thats it! total price for all is around $16.
here is how you do it:
1. raise the car and put it on jackstands. you can do it with the car in its normal hight but I have better clearance whe the car is up.
2. put the 3M tape on the door seal.
pic comming soon!
3. clean the bottom of your car, where the lip is going on.
4. start putting the lip on the side of the car that you preffer and follow the line where the paint ends.
5. you don't need to remove the plastic part in the middle just follow the line.

http://www.msprotege.com/members/buit9110/lip%20how%20to/lip%203.JPG
6. when you are done cut the exess rubber with the razor blade
http://www.msprotege.com/members/buit9110/lip%20how%20to/lip%205.JPG
7. screw the self threading well..screws in the beggining of the lip, where it curves under the fog, and in the diagonal parts where the bumper ends and the plastic part beggins. sorry for the dirty picture.

I'd imagine that putting a few extra screws in wouldn't be a bad thing. Also, when you apply the 3M tape, be sure to prep the area with rubbing alcohol for better adhesion.

Yeah I just hate the idea of screwing into my bumper. Do youp prep the garage door sealer, bumper, or both with alcohol?

I'd suggest just the bumper. The door seal should be clean since its new and in a sealed bag, but it wouldn't hurt to give it a quick wipe. Just make sure that its dry before applying the tape.

if you are going to spray the top mount be careful you don't spray to much water because beneath the intercooler is the coilpacks and they won't take kindly to water sitting around them since there is no where for the water to drain.

i used 3m molding tape shown below. i made a double row on the entire strip first then peeled it back as i went along the bumper and yes i screwed it useing 1/2 self tapers. (ENTIRE INSTAL WAS DOWN ON THE GROUND) but i can imagine that is would be much easier lifted.

im guessing that stuff is pretty flexible, so what does it look like while the car travels at say 100+mph??
Okay after 2 week of rolling around with the lip, it ripped off. So I had to fabricate some reinforcement for the middle section. I guess my car is too low but I hope this help.
This is what I made out of some sheet metal I had laying around.
http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/260/dsc2812yh4.jpg
I made a template out of cardboard just so I could cut the shape of the bottom bumper. It doesn't have to be perfect but close enough. I didn't have any issues with the side, just the middle section of the bumper so I only reinforced that section with all five of those strips. Here is what it looks like.

first off i gotta say i red lip black rims looks bad ass on the white, and the depot lip compliments the grille extra nice.
i installed my depot lip a few weeks ago in no time and it looks sick, best part is u can still drive the car like its got no lip whatsoever, i love not having to worry about crackin a $600+ bumper fitting.

Had a friend do it at his shop last night--not the easiest of things, as you have to drill out some aluminum rivets to remove the original lip. Once that's done, pretty easy. My friend attached it w/two sided tape and some plastic rivets. Looks really good for $10!

Crap. Working overtime at the firehouse today, so I figured I'd get this done today. Stopped at HD on the way in and they didn't have the 2 1/4" hard plastic lip, just a 2" soft foam lip. I test-fitted it and it just didn't look right; the crease was not angled sharp enough and it basically stuck straight out. Guess I'll try again later. Or go to Lowe's.

mysleeper6

Yeah, I noticed in the photos that most people (maybe all) seem to be using something I wouldn't describe as hard plastic---but that IS what the OP's picture says...anyway, it was really the angle I was more concerned about. It just didn't look right.

Yes, I am referencing the bag only; I don't think the OP ever refered to it that way.
Went to Lowe's when I got off shift this morning (one room of fire, started in a dryer, extension to upstairs apartment; car fire, 80's Bronco, fully involved upon arrival; couple of medical runs---thanks for asking! :) ) and found the Frost King brand used by the OP. The bag looks I dentical with the exception of the ommission of the word "hard". So, I'll try to get this done today.
