finally got the cash, went out and got a bottle warmer for a helluva deal. it was "NOS" Brand but it works for me. It was kinda a bitch because at first i didnt get a good ground in the trunk and thought the thing was fucked up. but now it works fine!! :D

holds bottle at 85F (which is in green zone on my NX bottle)

I'm looking forward to it.
Oh- I also bought NGK 2 Step Colder Plugs and gapped them to .035. sound ok?

Glad to see ya got yourself a botle warmer kit..does it have the thermostat? If not its not a bid deal..Just wire it up to the same switch as the arming switch..this way you never have to worry about forgetting the bottle warmer on!

Why ya go w/ 2 step colder? That's gonna make you run rich as hell..Expect some loss in hp..as well as loss in gas mileage...aren't you still runnin a 50shot? Hey..i have the mp3 ecu..as ya know..w/ 1 step colder plugs...

Yeah...035 is correct...

it says on NX website to run 2 step colder plugs. how long does it take to get the bottle warm? also on the nx website it says it needs to be at 97 degrees, so why 85?

also, doesnt the NX bottle warmer automatically turn on if it hits a certain pressure?

matthew what setup are you getting? the mazda specific kit, or the universal that they list? the universal is cheaper and has the same parts

im getting the universal import:

450 for the kit
320 for the genx2 upgrade
120 for the rpm window switch

plus 2 step colder plugs

ive got a long way to go, which is why everyone needs to start donating

btw acid, im pretty sure your plugs have nothing to do with running rich or lean...youre already running rich or lean by the time the fuel gets burned...colder plugs prevent detonation by not burning as hot as platinums or whatever. im doing whatever i can to be safe and sure with my setup.

Well that's your call..I called up NX Direct..and told them..and they said 1 step w/ the p5 ecu..and 2 step w/ the mp3 ecu!

About the bottle warmer..it only takes couple of minutes...About the temp..for the bottle..My NX bottle warmer is automatic...w/ a thermostat..in other words i flip the switch..it will adjust accordin to bottle prossure!

The kit is Part# 20923..Yes it's a universal kit!

acutally plugs are what help the combustion of the gas..w/ colder plugs..it's proven..that they richen up the mixture..Check out

I feel ya on being safe..no sense in blowing a perfectly good engine!

my question then is, do you have the bottle warmer on forever? because if you pull up to a light with someone and your bottle isnt warm (er - not the right pressure inthe bottle whatever) do you tell them to wait a minute or so while your nx bottle heats up?

I got one too, but I don't know if you can use it for disposable liners. You just pop it in the cig lighter, fill up the bottle (formula or breastmilk, you choose) and in a few minutes, baby food! Only problem is the exhaust it creates...

u heat it up when u leave ur house :)

does the bottle have to be open for it to detect the pressure and therefor heat accordingly? so you mean you have to drive around heating up all the time in the slight chance that you may race?

No..I don't have the bottle warmer on forever..I can if i wanted to..but i don't..

When i do pull up to a light...and i think i am going to race..i immediatley hit the bottle warmer...

Now about the bottle not bieng warm..only means that the pressure is not at it's summit..but that doesn't mean..i wont feel anything when i shoot...i usually means..that i won't get that big of a hit..when i shoot..About the timing it takes..well..i timed it..and it took about 2 minutes for the bottle to reach the summit..pressure wise..which isn't that long..so while i am shooting..the bottle warmer is still going..and keeping the pressure from falling!

I have told people to wait a minute..but those people i am racing b/c they are really interested in seeing what my car can do!

Also..If i am going out racing..i immediatley flip the bottle warmer on..so i will be at the right temp!

Once you fill the bottle..the pressure is at the summit/zenith of pressure..but as you begin to shoot is where you lose pressure..Also the weather affects the temp of the bottle!

If you live in an area..like florida..you don't need a bottle warmer..b/c the weather is alwayz hot..which means..the bottle is going to be warmer..than lets say a person who lives in michigan where is constantly cold!

about the bottle being open..Yes..that's how the thermostat works....but if you want to get around it..just wire it w/ out the thermostat..but i would be very carefull..

As noted before...about driving around..the bottle doesn't take a long time to heat up..usually when i am driving..and see some car i want to race..i hit the bottle warmer..and open the bottle..and by the time we line up at the light..atleast the bottle pressure is rising due to me hitting the bottle warmer!

so the bottle warmer is on a switch? would it hurt to throw the warmer on when driving always? or is that not a good idea because you have to have the bottle open? im kinda confused

Yes the bottle warmer is on a switch..The way my bottle warmer is setup..is that..if the car or arming switch is off..the bottle warmer will not come on!

Now..you can set it up any way you like..but if you wanna use the thermostat..the bottle must be opened..I just had the kit installed to NX Directions..which is supposed to be the safest setup!

No it wouldn't hurt having the warmer on when driving alwayz..

You can keep the solenoids pressurize...but leaving them alwayz pressurized...leaves the chace of a solenoid having problems..like getting stuck open!

so is there a temp guage you have up front to see how its doing and or pressure?

the reality is i'm looking for any reason to buy a pod and put some guages in it?

matt

Well..there is no temp guage..per say..actually there is a presssure gauge...Which is how the auto bottle heater can tell when to kick onn..and to kick off..

yeah..that can be mounted anywhere..i have it mounted in my engine though!

mine uses a temp sensor. when the bottle is at 85F it shuts off. when it drops below 85F it turns back on and so on. those sensors are right on the bottle held there by the velcrow straps.
