View Full Version : used nitrous, first time in month

so i finally got the new NGK plugs in... and filled up with 93 (quarter tank of 87 left)

after that i ran it VERY BRIEFLY. from a stop. totally spun in first gear and it was FREAKING flakey, in second the RPMS went like to 4500 but i didnt feel the speed go higher :confused:

so i get home and i hear a tick at idle. what could it be?
car drives fine, goes to redline fine, but just a ever so small tick at idle. maybe its always been there. maybe im just being paranoid. plugs were all gapped close to .035 and are SUPPOSED to be 2 steps colder BRE7K or whatever. they were 7s though.

Valve float ???? I have not tore down the head of the FS engine, so I couldnt be sure.

BTW:Pament being sent tomorrow bro. :D

When the Valve, or rocker is out of adjustment. It will sit in there loose, and rattle, giving a ticking sound. Again thoug, I have never tore one of these heads down, so it could easily be different then what I have described. :D

IF thats the prob, should i worry about it? would i hear it just at idle or all rpms?

update, i ran nitrous again tonight, MUCH BETTER. turns out the wheels were spinning in THIRD EVEN (cold weather?)

and that ticking is ever slightly there but if my car can handle the 50 shot at 5000rpms 2nite i dont think a tick is of much conern?

Well..about the rpms going up but not the speed..your clutch is slipping..time to upgrade to stage 1 or stage 2...clucth and flywheel!!

Not sure about the tick..but i know when the car is off it ticks...maybe something lose...or could be the fan..is out of wack..and hitting somehting...

Gap is fine...

BRE7K..not sure about those...i am still tryin to find some info!
