It's been done before..

oh you can, you'll just break down eventually, it's inevitable with nitrous

you can if its installed correctly and if you get a NON mp3 ecu (p5, sedan) (those ecus are a direct swap minus advanced timing)
someone move this to the N2O thread?

Well..I ran some nitrous w/ an mp3 ecu w/ out any problems...The only person that i know that used a wet kit..was
pdhaudio..and he blew his engine..why..still not sure..but i think it had to do w/ some bad gas..
But i think your best bet is to get a p5 ecu..but you will not pass emmissions..in any state..w/ a CEL (Check Engine Light)

partial reason why i blew was the nozzle was aimed at cylinder 4 (closest to driver side) therefore that cylinder took WAY too much stress and power.
boom.

if you're interested in the ecu swap let me know...I may be interested also.
Has anyone besides acid and PD tried Nitrous?

yep the pics are in the photo video section somwhere. title is something... blown piston

I know what pdh is talking about. I've lost more 5 & 6 pistons on my NX powered SHO than anything else. Some motors have problems with wet kits. I switched to ZEX and was able to run all day long with not one problem. It appears as though the fuel was puddling in the intake manifold and only the juice was getting to the cylinder....very bad...

This is a common problem with older wet kits...As soon as the came out w/ the Shark nozzle ....that problem basically became non-existent!

oklahoma has no emissions testing.:D

Wow...Then defintely trade up..get the p5 ecu..and go for a 50shot..i know one guy running a 75shot!

My 3.0L Taurus V6 ran a 110hp shot of Zex and was killer on the track! If I could've gotten the tires to hook up off the line I would've knocked another second off my times. I was having to wait until second gear to even hit it. Very bad for low et's!!

Yeah..When i had the 50shot...Damn..
when i shot in 1st & 2 gear..would just burn the tires...most of the time..i would just shoot in 2nd..and the car would sping a little..but damn..Not many cars could keep up w/ me!

i was thinking about runing a 50 shot after i ge tmy turbo installed but im stilla little scared to use nitrous on my daily driver.
I don't think anyone here has run NO2 with a turbo and had there car survive yet.

I've seen it in many other turbo cars, not MSP's or such, but several turbo guys use a small boost of juice to get the turbo spooled up. This is found more often on cars with high peaky turbos.....It should be safe as long as fuel pressure is solid.

In this case, a window switch would be your friend!

absolutly!! Something to get you up into the 3500-4500 range and then shut off....I know Jacobs has a good window switch. They're pretty cheap also and work very well.

:) Yes, you can run nitrous....It's all in how you want to play...I have a 55 shot on my 01 mp3. Have had it on there since the day I bought the car with 600miles, now I have almost 36,000, my warranty is just about up and I will upgrade that to a 75 shot.

Iv been running nitrous all of the summer racing. Iv gone thru about 6 bottles (50 shot) the only thing that i have noticed is that iv have started to consume a SMALL amount of oil.. but that may be another problem.. I have installed a j spec intake cam ever since i did that I started burning oil.. anyways im getting off topic, In my opinion I would say its safe to run nitrous in our cars, BUT using it wisely and not STUPID.. ....just my 2 bits.. enjoy....

the burning oil is going to be a big problem... thats a sign of internal problems. (such as cracked or worn parts to the point of needing a rebuild)

I guess should specify a little better, when I get up into the higer rpm (no nitrous) and shift I get a small puff of SOMETHING (not sure if oil or too rich), I have not pinpointed the problem yet, I was thinking that I had damaged internals too, or burnt the rings, Ive done compression tests, 195 psi across the board (within spec).. and my blow by testes have been within spec (cant remember what they were).. I dont think I have a cracked head or oil leaking past the valve seals, that would show up in my testes that I have done.. Like i was saying that as soon as I installed my FS-ZE intake cam the problem started..... sometimes depending on how I shift in the high rpm I can blow a flame out the exhaust, apx 6-8" long.. iv tried to get it on tape for people to see but noone has there camera ready intime, oneday..

its prolly u are just running rich. the mazdas are like that. extremely rich to the point of bogging the cars acceleration down...

as i run thru the rpm ranges there is nothing (smoke) untill i shift and hammer on it again theres a nice little puff, its hard for me to tell what color it is (tinted windows) but others tell me its a darker black gray color, and smells kinda wierd, we cannot pinpoint the smell but im thinking its unburnt fuel... on the other hand using nitrous its crazy, what a differance, no smoke no nothing, and pulls hard.
thanks for the advise..
