DETROIT -- Ford Division, planning to take the SVT performance brand to a more premium position, will drop the SVT Focus after the 2004 model year, the company says.

Dropping the car is part of an overhaul of the SVT lineup. No SVT models, including the SVT F-150 Lightning and the SVT Mustang Cobra, will be produced for about 18 months starting in the spring.

Ford will still sell a performance Focus, called the Focus ST, a four-door sedan. That car will debut in the 2005 model year. "

Either way, the less Foci on the road, the happier I am.

i hardly ever saw any Foci of the SVT variety. probably only 2 since they began production. they just aren't too big down here.

I've seen several....mainly in my rear viw mirror....that skyline is bad ass!! I wonder if the bid is $10K CAD or USD??? If it's canadian I'm in!!!

Ford is stopping to "re-tool" the SVT line up.

With the Mustang redesign and the Focus redesign in the works for the US, SVT is going to hold off.

Plus, everyone else is coming out with factory performance vehicles. And Ford doesn't want to compete with the Mazdaspeed line up for now.
