hey guys.

just thought i'd start a bit of a discussion thread....

so what things have we just, are, or about to purchase for your SP20 or 1.6/1.8?

I should be getting my adjustable cam gears shortly and i know critter is getting brake pads and SS lines, well trying too - saw his post from this morning. and i know snert is getting a personalised number plate....

so what else are we getting????

later

There is an Injen CAI on my list too, which is being organised as we speak from the $US195 group buy here. Too good to pass up.

Haven't heard about the brakes goodies yet....
Those Unorthodox underdrive crank pulleys look interesting. Any "mail" on them?

Would like to say "turbo" but that is some while off yet it seems....

i had unorthodox pulleys in my previous car - a civic. the engine was very rev happy, so they definately help. power wise? not a huge amount, but definately some gain there. i will be getting pulleys in the near future for my car

yeah kurt let us know how the film on the fogs goes. i'll probably get some i'd say

yeah my next "on order" mod is the cam gears, next after that is a bit more of a guess...it'll either be a set of JIC coilovers or a haltech e6x ecu...decisions decisions...

i'm still waiting to be lowered :( damn states.... i now HAVE to order a whiteline (not entirely bad - by end links are stuffed, so why not upgrade the lot?)

fixing that mesh is high on my priorities atm.. gotta get fixed for nats ...
and it looks like i'm soon going to be jcr082 .... my 21st on the 26th of this month....

twilightprotege

flappy burpday soon!!!!

Whiteline is great stuff, I have a car full of Whiteline, including the new strut brace, camber kits, rear adjustable bar.
The chassis performance is brilliant.

I also have the TWM shifter. Get the Kartboy bushes, very positive feel. Everybody tries that combo wants it.

Thanx for the heads-up on the pulley, twilight.

I'm not as think as you drunk i am!, i'm having a barby with hixed smerbs.....

yeah whiteline looks the shiznitz to me, seeing snerts bar inspired me... clunkning the last 2 days has motivated me... ...
i have a bigger question... has anyone been able to sorta make someone buy you stuff for christmas.birthdays???

i love getting stuff for my car for then, i don't care if i get presents.... so getting free shit for the car rocks....

I just put my TWM shifter in last weekend and my Injen CAI last night. Have got intake camshaft but it is a long story about how i am going to put it in cos i need to convert into a exhaust camshaft. Next up is probably a bit of body work. Just a dgm front lip or something

What ProPartsUSA is quoting me for delivery of 4 brake pads and a set of SS lines is %^&(# ridiculous.......$US110 !!!!!

Won't be getting those unless there is a different solution.....

twilightprotege
12-09-2003, 04:16 PM
critter - that's the combo i'll eventually get if i decide to change my shortened stock shifter to a true short shifter. and yeah i had a similar issue with the cam gears. i had to send a telegraphic transfer to him so he would use usps - only $27 shipping instead....try asking him about doing that...

ahb - i had my fiancee get me a coolant catch can and power steering can for xmas...i just need to sand them back and paint them black - will be doing my headlights at the same time, so that might be a little while away...dont know

Critter

Jeff said he was using USPS on that quote........

I had said surface mail was fine, the pads have still got some life in them....

Anyhow, we'll see how it works out....

:)

EVERYBODY keeps asking that....

I got in a group buy in Oz that one of the guys (TDK) at astinaGT.com organised so dunno exactly. He could help you but is a bit slow answering his messages tho.

Good bloke just the same....:)

shipping isnt much from america anyway....more than from here to there, but still it's cheap.

Critter
12-14-2003, 09:51 PM
Hmmm....

I'm still looking for better than $US110 for pads and SS lines....not a big or heavy package you would have thought.

Jeff just doesn't answer his pm's......

And no response from the Injen guy either :(

twilightprotege
12-14-2003, 10:26 PM
jeff is a little slow on the pm's i have to admit...but he gets there eventually...

yep, definatelyt stay away from fedex or ups. way way way too expensive. usps is the only way to go

hey i was down at unifilter checking out there sri and its not a bad item, also they can work out something like the injen if you ask them for it.... check out www.uniflow.com.au that should have the details....

they are local to me, so for me access is easy...

by the way there is apparantly some prob with getting ss lines from the states, i remember one of iaink 's articles in speed.... ( i think it was his anyway) you might want to PM him about it? i think there is a fitting issue, or a legality... i'm not sure

oh yeah a lil off topic, iain has sold the sp... shame, but it was that heinous yellow colour....

I am getting headers and looking at the different mufflers

dilemma dilemma

chambered or flo thru

2" or 2 1/4" pipe

def a hot dogger resi

I have promised no cannon, so fair enough, love the remus mufflers but so $$$

Then there are the wheels....

And I hear Critters chant in the background...

::dump it Kitty, dump it::

so much to do, so little funding

the SS lines would be a legality issue because they wouldnt be DOT approved here. but as if they would pick up on them...

with unifilter, the SRI would be ok, but get yourself a K&N filter. it's much better than the unifilter

kitty - well welcome to this board! make yourself known in the aussie aussie aussie oi oi oi thread of the australian forum....and get a 2.25"

Critter
12-16-2003, 03:48 PM
The SS lines have a legality issue, this I am aware of, but who is looking there? :)

The Injen CAI is soooo funky looking and we know it works well.

twilightprotege
12-16-2003, 04:01 PM
exactly. most police and DOT guys wouldnt look there...they normally only look in the engine bay (i was going to write under the hood but i sounded too american hehehe)

hmm wonder if they'd fit my engine (BP26)? as recently my power steering/aircon belt came off and i noticed the nice little increase in power...

got a link? :)

twilightprotege

www.unorthodoxracing.com . not sure if they'd make them for your engine though

thanks :)

did a search on here about them and think i'll steer clear of them - a few bad things have been said about them regarding much-higher-than-standard power outputs

it's all about balance. when you take the original crank pulley away you're loosing the balancing effect it provides, and puts stress on the items that arent balanced...crank, rods and pistons.

i will get them eventually
