I think this car is a good idea but it still looks like a WRX wagon. I like the new frontend and the wheels.

I wonder if Saab will offer the a 9-2X in Sedan form if the wagon takes off?

no...not bad looking...but its a damned WRX with some minor exterior/interior changes. thats just rediculous. whats next the 9-2X STi? sabb needs to stick with its identity and make its own cars. *sigh* :(

i think a sedan version would look really nice. I like the european styling, although it could just be the scoopless hood, and am not a huge fan of the wrx's.

saab is not doing well, and needs to sell some cars before it can "stick with its identity and make its own cars."

this is a cheap and easy way to boost sales way up...thenthe next 9-2 can be "all saab." until then -- a better-looking WRX? yes please. :)

BTW, my gf and i are picking up her new ride tomorrow:

tell me that isn't the cleanest 4/5-year-old car you've seen.

The only problem with Saabs is there is little or no aftermarket performance support. With the 9-2X that will all change for the better. I would think the performance parts for the 2.5RS and WRX would bolt right on.

Heres a 900 all tuned.

I would love to tune a 900 or 9-3 3 dr hatch.

that's the word...i can't imagine why Impreza parts wouldn't bolt on, for the most part...

i wish that 9-3 engine was in my Protege. soooo smooth. and the midrange power is hella strong. doesn't handle as well, though! :D
