TwilightProtege,

Given that with the mods performed thus far on your car you have lifted power by about 15% - how much extra would you be expecting with an alternate tune via piggyback ECU/standalone programmable/Unichip?

Curious...

he will probably get an extra 10-15% on what he already has. That is my guess. we will wait and see for what he has to say

well a likely next candidate to my mods will be a haltech e6x. with that as a straight bolt on and tune would yeild 130whp pretty much no problem (dont forget i have cam gears ariving any day soon - just adding cam gears and tuning should bring me up to 120whp hopefully).

a bit of a bottleneck for my engine at the moment is exhaust, but i want to leave it stock at the moment because it's actually helping power down low (where i lack the most at the moment). with a full exhaust system added on to what i've done plus a haltech - 150-170whp

you thinking along the lines of what i've done?

No, no liberation there. :D

I'm not personally chasing hp with my mods - handling is more for me, not to mention it is a damn side cheaper.

I was just asking out of curiosity. Switchable maps on the fly with the E6X would be neat, very neat.

yeah i'd want to have about 5 maps stored in a laptop ready to input on the fly. would be great!!!

yeah handling is important to me too, that's why i'm having trouble deciding between my next mods

haltech e6x - or - JIC FLT-A2 coilovers

tough choice

get the haltech, and get the engine management sorted out....

then fix up the handling.... i just don't want to see an aussie lose an engine.... but hey it hasn't happened yet!!!

yeah so many if's and but's.

jic's - i wont have to touch handling again other than front and rear sway bars (rear very easy to change, front nasty)

haltech - i wont have to touch engine mangement again and i can play with it...but need to buy a laptop too.

but you do them both.... just do the haltech please??!!!

i thought you said your missus was getting a lappy?

yeah she is, but we were hoping to get it later in the year. i spose it'll give me time to save up because i want to do the e6x properly. i want to de-loom the engine bay, ie hide the wiring. i've always loved that look
