When I hit about 3,200kms on my sedan, the airbag light suddenly decided to stay on when I started the car. One day it turned off for an afternoon but the following day it came back on and it's been on ever since (except when the car is off, of course :p). I knew imediately it must be a sensor. I used to work as a service advisor for GM and I'd see tons of these on Aleros.
Anyways, I bring the car in to my Mazda service centre and have it checked out. As I suspected, a crash sensor malfunction. I was also told that this wasn't the first time somebody came in with that problem. It was the 3rd one in two weeks.
Be on the lookout for possible bulletins coming out soon. Just thought I'd give you guys a heads-up. Obviously I expected this kind of thing to happen and I was willing to live with the possibility of seeing wierd little problems creep up. It's a first year model and we're going to learn a lot of things.
