How many uses can you get out of a 10 lb bottle? Average?

If the engine has to run richer to make up for the Nitrous how does it run when you're not running your nitrous?

There's a good article in the latest SuperStreet about installing Nitrous, but I have yet to find an article that answers these questions.

thanks

no firm answer. theres really no way to figure.

it all depends how often you shoot and for how long. the bottle can be 1/2 drained from one race.

about running rich, you should get a wet kit that also sprays fuel to avoid that problem.

When does the nitrous actually kick in? I hear it's only when the throttle is wide open. So if I start full throttle off the line and run it through the gears wide open does, is the nitrous working the whole time? Or is it only when you've hit top speed?

HOw much does a refill cost???

usually its $3-$5 per lb.

i get refills for $45 plus tax.

my nitrous system worked only when i hit WOT. this can be changed, but thats how you'd prolly want it.

you'll get more sprays depending on a lot of factors:
whether or not you have a bottle warmer (warmer=more pressure=more sprays per bottle) size of your bottle (bigger=more) size of your nozzle (smaller=more sprays)

as a seeming nitrous amateur (I would be too :D ) I would think the 'wet' shot is your best option and yes you should really only spray when you've got the throttle all the way down and you're about low-midrange on the tach...
this is what I've learned, anyone that knows more feel free to correct any inaccuracies

edit: if you get a bottle warmer, try to get one with a auto-shutoff otherwise you could end up with serious issues if you forget (even only once) "think boom :( "

why spray when not at WOT?? All N20 does is introduce more air into the combustion chamber if you dont have the throttle opened you're wasting your time.

p.s. buy a quality dry kit like ZEX and don't worry about running rich.

p.p.s. I make a bottle last about 2 weeks only hitting on the track making about 15 passes a night...so figure about 30 passes for $35..

p.p.p.s. You can help use every last bit of juice by maintaining bottle pressure with a warmer. This will extract every bit of juice from your system.

Average bottle used to last about 4-5 full runs w/ a 50shot wet!

That's me shooting in 1st through 4th gear!

And wet kit rules..
