what's with the falcons and commodores?

why are there so many ford falcons and holden commodores? at first i thought they were cool, and still think they look pretty cool, but they are absolutely everywhere. why do people buy so many of them?

I dislike australian cars, just for how their built, nothing compared to jap cars, but the Aus Gov is offering many benifits for companies who buy australia cars, to help the economy.
And there were massive run outs just recently, that would have helped too.

hell second hand V8 for 30,000 almost new, or sp20(sorry p5) for 30,000 brand new

price wise they add up, but all the same i'd go the import car

hey we export one of those cars the holden/vauxhall/pontiac/GM monaro/monaro/gto/something

umm middle east get all the range (i think), as well as NZ, then the UK get the monaro, and the same for northern america

we also make toyota camrys, and mitsubishi magnas(diamante?) here tehy are exported as well...

Toyota and Mitsu are owned by non Australian overall I think, where as to my knowledge, Holden and Ford are fully australian, thats why Gov not offer good rebates to non aus, I had to magnas previous, they came factroy default with oil leaks to name the smallest problem. But I have heard camerys are good cars.

sacah - all aussie made cars are foreign owned. general motors owns holden, ford owns ford. the reason the govt protects the australian built cars (goes for toyota and bitsamissing as well) is to protect jobs....and that really sh!ts me off. tarrifs are a way to protect out lazy way of life.....but the yanks are the best at it ;)

why work hard and develop better ways of doing things when the govt will just protect you???

all australian beer sucks. i don't like beer at all and even i think it sucks.

i'd take a ford falcon in the states, i like how the new ones look. and the low truck version of each is pretty cool, we don't have any trucks that low in the US from the factory. the rednecks who buy trucks like the bigger the better

those aren't utility vehicles, where i come from they'd get stuck on the giant bumps people have at the start of their driveway. my old probe gt used to scrape, and these are longer and lower than that. i can't imagine what it'd do with a bed full of stuff.
