This is what you get when you parked along the road outside a liquor store...ironic...
Hi guys...i'm not new to this forum...but this is my first post..i have a few questions to ask about my car...since the damage to my car was all in the rear...i think it's a good chance to get some new aftermarket parts...personally...i don't know much about cars..all i know is that it's a 2002 sports limited edition(SP20 without the badge and different spoiler)...the repairs guy quoted me over $7k(i'm not insured, but don't worry..his NRMA will pay for it...$8k..haha)...he is a friend of a friend's...so he can replace the stock parts with aftermarket parts...so all i need is info on parts and availability in Sydney...if anyone can provide any good info...it would be very much appreciated...thx!!:) http://members.optusnet.com.au/~williamhsu/smashed.jpg

well welcome to the forum bigstarS....pitty about this being your first post though :(
make sure you tell us about yourself and mods etc....start a new thread or something - or add in to the aussie aussie aussie oi oi oi thread.
in terms of getting stuff on oz...unfortunately that's rather limited. usa or japan is the way to go. there are a few options in terms of body kits etc, but will cost lots to get here. one thing that'll turn a lot of softs to hards is a custom carbon fibre boot ;)
how much time do you have?
nuturi - about $5000usd. from what i can see that's a lot of work. new bever panel (3k aud right there almost). that's about 1-2 weeks work

thats what i thought...importing stuff is too much of a hassel and costs too much...i was wondering if any aussie bodykit makers make copy kits also trying to replace the spoiler with a GT-wing...what do u guys think about that and getting altezza tail lights...other than that...there's not much i can do without putting too much money in...which i don't have(hump)

there are a few body kits that are avail in oz, but...well...it's made here. fibreglass, cheap and nasty...but costs heaps. dont know who they are because i'm not a body kit person myself.

btw...my name is William...22yrs old... my first car was a silver pulsar SSS...but traded that in 1 week after seeing the protege sports limited edition one night driving pass the dealers...i live in the northern suburbs of Sydney and this is my first manuel car...and i love it...looks good drives good...after the accident...i felt like trading it for a mazda3 but my friend is getting a blue one...so i'm waiting to see how it really performs...i've test driven it...but don't like it as much as my car...plus...we r gona make a team..haha...TEAM BLU....and it's corny to have 2 blue mazda3 in the same group...so i might as well mod the crap out of my car...cos he thinks he can beat me bc it has more power...i guess i'll show him....HAHAHAHA

the only real diff between the sedan and hatch is just that. 1 is a sedan and 1 is a hatch ;) hehehe. there are minor stuff ofcourse (the rear bumperbar is longer on the sedan), but the main stuff is the same.
operation 175whp - $6k max, but i'm not going into much details bout it yet. tis a secret ;) ... i'm not far off though. probably around 140whp now.

Is that "protege limited sports edition" the equivalent of a MP3 in the states? or maybe a Mazdaspeed? Is that one turbo charged? Do they make a turbocharged model overseas? and is that protege limited sports edition 4wd? haha just a couple things I was wondering as I was reading the thread. Man.. I sure hope I can study abroad in Australia in a couple of years... the more I read / hear about it, the more I wanna go.

it's the equiv of a mp3. as far as i'm aware america is the only place there are 3rd gen 323's etc that are turbo'd. the only awd car is in europe and japan too (or special import into new zealand etc)

it's exactly the same as the SP20 in Australia...except for the spoiler...and the rims...other than that...it's the same...as for the similarities to the US...as far as i know..it's exactly the same as the MP3
