so i guess would there be nothing i can do to the exhuast without buying new exhuast to make it louder? or wait untill mazda comes out with SOMETHING to enhace the sound?

Well, don't hold your breath on Mazda making anything. That's not the way they work. The only go-fast goodies they come up with go on the Mazdaspeed cars.
Hmmm... lessee... louder exhaust on the cheap...
Well... if you take a 2-inch hole saw... (boom07)

take of the air resinator
theres a post here in how to remove it
i will be doing mine soon
it will make the car a bit louder
and you can change anything you want on the car, aslong as nothing happens, then ur warrenty is fine
like if u put a muffler on and the car didnt start, they would have to porve that the mod that u did was the cause.

I took mine off two tanks ago (I'm the one who posted the procedure) and have had no detrimental effects. It's still quiet at idle to 1/2 throttle and has a nice little growl above that. Drove it to Toronto this past weekend. If anything, the gas mileage went up a bit and it seems a little peppier.

I say do it, mufflers don't destroy your warrenty. Hell, my catback on my P5 didn't. But, if you wanna be a real pussy, just drill a hole in ur exhaust, or, remove the muffler all together, and just put a straight pipe in it's place.

If you want to spend money, there are systems available for between $200 and $600. You could probably get a muffler shop to cut and weld a different muffler in for about $100.

if you just want the sound, pretty much any old universal muffler with a ddecent sized tip will suffice. No point spending money on something you don't want. Any Ractive, or APC, or wutever muffler thats hi-flow, with a niceely sized tip will give you that F&F sound you desire. You can get thos cheap. Or, Axel back exhaust will work well, giving you a slight gain in power aswell. Cat, same, but more power., headers back. Really good sound, and very good performance, especially when matched with an Intake, best option Cold Air Intake. Prices range from 20 for just muffler, to 600 for CAI and Full exhaust

So basically, like if i got a tip the size of like the honda's from the F&F and had it bolt on it, then it would sound somewhat like it?

Not with just the tip. You have to combine it with a muffler or cat-back exhaust system. The problem with these cars is that there's no joints in the system. It's a single, solid piece from in front of the second cat all the way back to the tailpipe. All mods require cutting and most require re-welding unless you remove the second cat (not recommended).

CAI in and of itself won't void the warranty.
Not there are any available for this car yet... (pissed)

Just to clarify a bit, 95% chance that a CAI will do nothing to void a warranty unless you drive through water high enough to cover the inlet (about 12" deep). You shouldn't be doing that, anyway.
Yes, a high-flow muffler and larger tailpipe will improve the sound of your exhaust but you'll never sound like F&F unless you boost your engine and/or jump the compression ratio.
There's more to being fast than sounding fast. :)

im using oneofthefirsts exhaust set up on mine (thanks) she said it sounds good and it looks like a decent setup so im goin with it, i priced everything (the muffler, a new tip, and a muffler shop cutting out the resinator and welding in the new muffler) and it came to $200. i took off my intake resinator and i havnt had any problems with it at all, it sounds 10 times better and it only took about 30 minutes to do.
