I am a recently new owner of a Mazda3s 5speed.And over all I am really pleased with the car.But my question is (uhm) , that I didn't take the option pkg for the (ABS) and side airbags. And in regards to safety is that something that you car gurus consider to be imperatively essential to have.Even though I'm building the car for show and no go. And do you think the standard braking system is suffice. (bluemp3)

I think the side air bags are big plus because they help against head injuries if you're in a side collision with a taller vehicle. I wish it was standard on all of them, or at least an option that you could get without having to purchace as part of a package. Some people like the ABS on cars and some don't so I bet you'll get mixed opinions on that. I think this car has great brakes with or without the ABS.

i have no ABS, I can either lock up all 4 whenever I want, or brake VERY nicely when needed without locking them up.

(dance) Ah and now the relief comes over me. Thats good to here because I was skeptical about going back to the dealership and just having it installed. And I'm broke as a joke to be investing into anything else except the OZ rally wheels.......18's or possibly some 5zigen (bluemp3)

Just FYI, ABS is not a dealer-installable option.

The only time I have gotten the car to lock tires was on gravel... and ABS doesn't help you much then anyways
just try not to tailgate or get t-boned by people :)
