    rattles and squeaks!

hi, i have some issues with my mps and was wondering if u guys in america (im in england) have any issues with your interiors? my steering wheel rattles quite alot, and from the passengers side theres a rattle from postentially where there the seatbelt starts. also there is a kncking noise from the drivers window.................theres more...............the plastic on the dash constantly rattles and makes a cheap plasticy nois.........theres more..........the leather in my car is making a rubbing noise from time to time on the drivers seat..........somewhere or another.............im so close to selling this car because of it, and im being serious, but other than that the car is amazing and has the most potential to be an all time great? you guys please advise i have tried three mazda dealers already and they are effing useless.

    regards

It sounds like your car was involved in an accident at one point or another. What you've mentioned is very common with a car that is refurbished from a severe side impact.

Does the door properly seal on the door frame?

yes it does properly seal, the car has had no damage or accidents as this car belonged to my friend before he moved country and he is the only owner since knew, the car is fully cleared...........it would be nice to know perhaps of some methods in order to actually to remove these rattles and plastic shuddering..........does anyone know of any? also the car has covered only 26k, and even though i was in constant contact with the person who previously owned it, i still had it checked out with 3 different mechanics in order to tell whether perhaps the mileage were genuine or not, and all 3 were absolutely positive that it was 100% legit and that there were no signs whatsove of damage or refurb aswell. i know its not a german car and the interior is a bit ropey compared to such cars, you would still expect of mazda's "flagship" vehicle that there is something that could be done to prevent these noises.

my steering wheel had a rattle. its right were the music controls are on the left hand side. i took it back to my dealer and they replaced the plastic cover that goes over the controls. it helped for a bit but then it came back. took it back to them and they put 2 sided tape under the cover at all the contact points and the rattle is gone completely. hope that helps a little

Yes, if you can isolate and find the rattle, you can try a few things like using the loop side of velcro, fabric tape, or anything that might absorb noise and put that on contact points to help avoid the noise. I've done that several times on other vehicles I've owned without having to run to the dealer for it.

Little stuff like that is fine, but I usually try to isolate the trim panel/area its coming from and see what may be causing it before hand.

I had to take mine in because the child seat tethers on the rear deck weren't latching properly, and would flap in the wind if the windows were down. I tried fabric tape and a few other potential fixes, but they ultimately replaced the whole cover under warranty.

Oh God, Amen to this post.

I have had mine for about 12k miles and the rear bumber squeeks right under the tail lights, my steering wheel rattles.....god I hate rattles and squeeks. It did not do this until about 4k(around 30,000 miles) miles after I bought it. No accidents either.

My mazda dealer laughed in my face when I took it in and showed them the issues. They kept asking what I was talking about as if I was just imagining noises. Nothing makes me more furious.

I have a slight rattle that I have been just trying to ignore but it is not the buttons, mine is something behind the center horn cover thingy. I have not been able to spend time to look at it any further yet, but I amagine that after I take off the cover I will find something that I could zip tie or hot glue into place.

As for the rear bumber I am going to take it into a body shop and see if they can do anything with it as I have 37k on my car now. I have heard of people that have had good experiences with dealers and some that have not. If one dealer doesn't please you, do not hesitate 1 bit to go to the next dealer.
