ok well i have been hunting around for spark plugs by the numbers on this thread...very helpful until u go to a parts store and try to buy them.. lol so me being my mechanic self... i went searching and for the denso spark plugs one step colder in iridium the part number is ik22. and the cooper part number couldnt be found where i went.. then i went a step farther because all the talk of gaps got me looking around to try to find one closer... but it turns out that mazdaspeeds gap for the plugs is supposed to be 1.0-1.1(.040-.043) its not supposed to be .8mm like this thread states.... it is very helpful though and im just throwing in my two cents. so some stock plug choices are as follows:
NGK---BKR5E-11*
BKR6E-11**
PZFR6F***
DENSO--- K16PR-U11*
K20PR-U11**
CHAMPION--- RC10YC4*
RC8YC4**
MAZDA--- BP13 18 110*
BP14 18 110**
*= regular heat range
**= one colder heat range
***= for fs motor with turbo
Those are the plugs that i got for the correct oem plugs all with a 1.0-1.1 gap.
i got all this info from www.ondemand5.com it is like alldata but better and is has all the mazda specs and info and pictures on it.
