Unhappy Front Passenger Door Window Shattered

My 2007 CX7 front passenger door glass shatters into a million pieces due to extremely high temperatures in parking lot. There were no apparent stress factors on glass prior to shattering. 36,000 mile warranty will not cover.

I don't think it's a warranty issue as it can happen to any car. That said, I've heard of this happening, but never seen it in person... Good luck!

Did you see it shatter? Parking lots tend to have other things that can shatter glass...

While it hasn't happend to my CX7 it has happend to two of my trucks this past summer. One for sure I know it was the heat because it was the rear window and that rear window is tucked up against a box in one of my box trucks. It happend in my parking lot so I know no one was in it. It happens - nothing you can do about it.

Today 5/12/08. I was driving a Mazda3 on Seaport Blvd, Redwood City, CA. Suddently, I heard a loud sound, I thought it was sound from a auto tire explosion. I looked around and only found that my front passenger door window shattered. I am wondering if it is a defect of Mazda3. It was a rental car.

Leave one of your windows open a crack... this will prevent the extreme pressure changes that make a window shatter like this.

I would have to say I would also think it had some help, it may actually have been a stray bullet, seriously, you hear the warnings about not firing into the air because those slugs have to come down "somewhere", and every once in a while some unlucky person catches one in the head and dies... and yes this doesn't only happen in the 'hood. so maybe a stray came down at the right angle, and caught your window? its a bummer but doesn't most insurance cover glass at no deductible?

Wow I've never seen this happen in person before. I mean I used to park my car out in the heat of Texas in direct sunlight for several months(waiting on funds for a new motor) and never had a window shatter....

Tell me about it... Texas seems 110 plus all the time... It might have to do with the humidity or something.
