turbosmart bov help..

i read one of the threads on what to do and this and that but im still having trouble. i dont know where exactly to have it set. i have a stage 2 plus map from cobb and inlet as well. i noticed that i have been backfiring if i shift to fast and i need some help determining my settings. thanks

okay so when i first got it i didnt touch a thing and bolted right up. i noticed some backfire and then pulled over and softened it by two turns. then i threw a CEL P0139 o2 sensor circut slow response. i then tightened it 1 full turn to harden and clear the CEL. drove around for a while and didnt notice a back fire really but i dont hear the flutter i should hear according to the OP here. http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showt...ght=turbosmart

I don't think you are suppose to have any flutter noise. When I install mine I turn it softer half of a half turn. So out of the box not even a half turn to soft. Reset the ecu by disconnecting the negative cable for 20 minutes. Here's some info I took from SU forum:

During the install, make sure to reset your ECU by removing the negative battery terminal for at least 20 minutes.
Before tuning the valve, you should allow the valve to "break in." Give it a few weeks before assuming that the valve needs adjusted. We set the valves here so they should be pretty close to the ideal setting when you guys get them on to the cars. However, each car/mods may require the valve to be fine tuned a little bit. Do not do it right away, give it some time and don't forget about resetting the ECU.

Tuning the valve:

Hope that helps.
