Just got First speeding ticket

I guess one ticket for 10 yrs of driving isn't bad, but it's just my luck.

I was coming home from work and all was fine until I got stuck behind this slow minivan doing way below the speed limit. I was about a mile from my house and came up to a traffic light. I decided to go the opposite way the van goes, it went straight I turned onto a back road. I came around a bend and down a little hill and see a white Accord in the median, so I eased off the gas wondering if it was an accident. That's when I saw 2 more cars - highway patrol, the Accord was another "customer" (victim). The trooper got in the middle of the road and motioned for me to pull over. He said they clocked doing 43 in a 30, but it looked like I was going even faster!!! So it's $133 or traffic school+a reduced fine. I should've gone straight at the light!!

doh that does suck, do your self a favor and go to court. talk to the prosecutor. just tell the guy that you dont want the points, and its your first ticket in 10 years. usually they will move it to a non moving violation, you will pay the same fine and court cost, but it takes away the points and that important. the worst thing you can do is just pay it. you can and most likely will get it lowered (the points). sorry to hear tho. but fight the man, it works.

If I go to the traffic school, the cop said that would remove the points and lower the fine. PLus that way the insurance company wouldn't find out. Anyone have any luck fighting tickets in court?

i always fight the ticket....i rarely win but the fine gets cut in half. then i wright a check for 5 dollars over the ticket, when the dmv sends the refund i dont cash it. then nothing shows up on my driving record(well after i learned this trick that is)

that trick is a lie, and can actually get you another fine in the state of NJ for barring municipal fees processing.

Joka1, are you still interested in my turbo? Haven't heard from you. Send me a PM and let me know the deal.

DON'T GO TO SCHOOL AND DON'T PAY THE FINE!!!!!

The traffic court system has a somewhat crooked method of operation that works to our advantage. I'm speaking of experience as I've done this with 3 tickets so far and I have 2 friends who've done this successfully with a 120 in a 65 and an 80 in a 55. It works. All you need to do is call a lawyer. Look up in the phone book and you'll find hundreds that do only this kind of traffic ticket work. My last ticket was for $150.....I had to send my Attorney $225 which covered his costs, ticket costs, and court costs. They go to court for you and plea the ticket down to 9mph over the limit (they don't even have to haggle to do this but if you try and do this yourself you're fucked) and you get no points and a reduced fine. You never even have to leave the house or worry about insurance rates going up. I thought for sure my friend who had the motorcycle ticket for 120 in a 65 would be screwed but his attorney got it to work for him. My attorney says don't bother fighting yourself because the Judge will not even listen and you will lose......but the attorneys have this crooked ass business arrangement so they can line their pockets. God damn I hate lawyers.....but I guess they're good for something

yeah, NJ has to be - largest amount of drivers per square mile. Supposedly the highest insurance fraud rates as well.

NEVER PAY IT, unless it's just a moving violation.

I am actually gonna try this concidering I just got a ticket. It says 75.00 but it looks like he wrote 75.20 so Iam going to play stupid. If anyone else saw it they would think it was 75.20 but he told me 75. Hopfully it works.

I dont think that the price of the check that I write out will effect anything it's more about not finishing the transaction.

Later
