I changed min to royal purple because I've heard better things from royal purple over redline, but mainly they're the same. I got my royal purple by going to their site and looking for an authorized vender nearby where I live. I beleive there is a redline dealer here in this forum but I forget who.

Gotta agree with most comments since it's one of my best mods so far also!

One thing however...

It would be great if you guys could manufacture your SS with that little white platic ring that you need to take out from the original shifter rod.

I broke mine when I installed the SS since it's made of "hard" plastic that's not made to bend at all. My guess is that it's not been manufactured to be taken off the original shifter so having one make of more flexible plastic or rubber would be great.

But then again, I might as weel be too dumb to know how to take the original ring out correctly...

I would like to just drop a note here.
I have bought TWM generation 2 short shifter a while ago, and boy I like it. Its a very great product from my point of view. Definetly much shorter than stock shifter, and throws are definetly shorter. I would definetly recommend this to everyone and anyone.

Also, recently I have bought TWM shift knob, which is weighted stainless steel ( I beleive its 150 gramms, or something like that). Any any case, the shift knob is pretty heavy, and its much easier to shift with it than with stock one.

My props to twmperformance.com staff. Keep it up! Great to have good people around!

well i got my shifter in the mail two days ago. i like the way the instructions look. i think im going to have to pay someone to install it because i dont have any car jacks as of right now. so whenever i decide to pay for it i'll post pics up and i also found a couple of places that sell tranny fluid so thanks for all the info about the fluids.

how much shorter is the shift knob over the factory MSP Short throw shifter. The description says 1" - 3" depending on application. I'm assuming that the MSP would be 1" lower.

Correct, the Mazdaspeed shifter reduces the throw by approximately 1" as the stock MSP shifter is already slightly shorter in height.

Thanks.

The pivot ratio is a little too extreme, making it VERY notchy. Work on that or make the height adjustable to help...

well i got my shifter installed about 2 hours ago(thanks for the help of scott, i really appreciate it) and so far i love it, and i dont see any point in having the tranny fluid changed. it's fine the way it is. i also have a stock shifter on it too. i'll post pics tomorrow.
